My history is indissolubly linked to the history of my family and Frosolone, town of knives and knifemakers, in which I was born on March 19, 1964 and live and practice the activity of knifemaker, continuing a tradition that has been handed down at least 6 generations.\nAmong the knives that can be certainly attributed to my ancestors, there are, in important collections of antique knives, switchblades marked LP and RP surmounted by a crown and multipurpose folding knives whose handle is constituted of two separable halves with a slide attachment, equipped with a blade as well as a spoon, fork and corkscrew. Some of the latter are on display in my shop among the antique knives in my collection.\nThese are knives produced at the early earl 19th century by my great-great-grandfather Rocco Petrunti and his father Leonardo, skilled knifemakers who were able to boast the crown symbol by concession of the king Borbone.<\/p>

My great-grandfather Leonardo Petrunti, who was also a cutler, died prematurely and left my grandfather Rocco Petrunti an orphan. He learned the art of cutlery making from his uncle Felice Petrunti, whose two splendid billhooks, a round-pointed sfilato knife and a multi-purpose knife similar to those of my great-great-grandfather, I still have. My grandfather also produced these multi-purpose knives at the beginning of his activity, and later specialised in the production of grafting knives of various types and, of course, sfilati, the typical Frosolone knife. My father, Petrunti Domenico, continued my grandfather's activity producing, with equal skill, grafting knives, temperini, sfilati and mozzette. In 1995, my father retired and I took over the business, continuing it. \"\" My production is also typical of Frosolone: temperini, sfilati, mozzette, zuavi, grafting knives and also cigar cutters, professional knives, kitchen and table knives. This traditional production is flanked by a production of custom sport and collector's knives made entirely by hand, both by removing material and by forging, using the best steel available on the market for the blades (RWL-34, 440C, D2, VG10, N690, M390, Damascus stainless steel or carbon) and natural materials such as horn, fossil ivory, mother-of-pearl and precious woods for the handles. The peculiarity of my knives lies above all in the accuracy of the finish of both the blades and the handles and in the precision of the combinations of the various materials. I dedicate a lot of time to the grinding of the blades, which I do freehand and which I attend to down to the smallest detail, especially in the bevelling, the planes and the false edge. I like clean, well-defined lines. In 2002 I opened a shop in the old town centre of Frosolone, where I sell not only my own knives but also those of esteemed fellow craftsmen, as well as the best of national and international production.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t
