Handcrafted cutlery since 1800

The Sfilato is the knife most typical production of Frosolone : it is precisely known as “FROSOLONE”. The name derives from its shape characterized by a progressive decrease in width from the bottom of the handle to the tip of the blade. It 's a simple spring knife that spread from the late nineteenth century following the promulgation of various laws forbidding to carry "fixed spring"knives. The blade has a sharp point, symmetrical and tight ends with a terminal falseedge. The handle, usually buffalo horn or cow horn (sometimes also "tartarugato"), is mounted on two metal plates and ends at the top with two bolsters of iron or brass with fashioned edges.
